Longford Town have announced the signing of Don Cowan, who last played for Stevenage.
Cowan started his career with Shamrock Rovers 'A' team in 2009, making a number of appearances for them over his two year stay with the Hoops.
Cowan was then loaned to Longford Town, and signed permanently in 2011. The striker went on to play 33 times, scoring 8 goals for 'De Town'.
On 31st August 2011, Don Cowan signed for English League 1 side Stevenage for an undisclosed five-figure sum. However, injuries meant that appearances were few and far between for Cowan.
Due to these injuries, Cowan has played for a number of clubs on short contracts in the last 14 months, playing for Braintree Town of the English Conference National, Dundee of the Scottish Premier League, Southend United from League 2 in England and finally returning to Stevenage.
Don Cowan returns to the League of Ireland as Tony Cousins fifth new signing ahead of the 2014 season.
