Byrne, who has previously played for Shelbourne, Cardiff City, Dundalk and twice with Bray Wanderers, returns to Bohemians for the second time after 3 seasons away from Dalymount Park, looking to add to the 41 league goals he has already scored with the Gypsies and some 200 in total.
Byrne was influential in Bray Wanderers' survival last season, finshing as the clubs leading goal scorer with 17 goals in all competitions. Jason also picked up the June 2013 SWAI Player of the Month.
Speaking on signing Jason Byrne, Bohemians manager Owen Heary said:
"Jason has that killer instinct up front that we missed last season. People talk about age but look at how he did with Bray last year. He scored 17 goals in all competitions, which is a tremendous tally for any striker."
Byrne is Owen Heary's sixth new signing ahead of the 2014 season.
