Waterford United have announced Sports World as the club's new main sponsor for the 2014 season.
The Blues will carry the Sports World logo on their home and away jersey's for the new season.
Sports World was founded in 1982 in the United Kingdom by current Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley. Since then, the company (trading as Sports Direct in most countries) now has stores in 19 countries across Europe, including 26 in Ireland.
Speaking on the announcement of the new sponsorship deal, Waterford United Chairman John O’Sullivan said:
"This is a big boost to Waterford United and the club is thrilled to welcome Sports World on board as the club's main sponsor for the coming season."
"Sports World is a renowned name known around the country and we are delighted to welcome them to the club. Their sponsorship is a huge vote of confidence in Waterford United and to League of Ireland football in Waterford."
"Our commercial director Chris Smyth has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure the new sponsorship and the announcement is the culmination of months of hard work."
"The club would also like to thank Three for their sponsorship over the past number of seasons and for their support of Waterford United."
Sports World had previously sponsored Premier Division side Bray Wanderers during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
